P stands for P.O.E.T.R.Y

COLORS are here and there
COLORS are EVERYWHERE!!
Blue for the sky
Green for the grass
ALL colors except for this clear piece of glass

Yellow is a banana
I like my apples red.
But pretty PINK I like the most
It’s covered all over my bed!

Parents!

We’ve started reading POETRY!!! The kids have been enjoying the collaboration of words that make us think, laugh and giggle!

PoetryTeachers.com is a great site for poetry!

This site not only informs our teachers on how to teach your children poetry, it gives them an abundance of examples to read, fill in the blanks, share and rate!

Please check out some of the poems and let us know your favorites!

Family Poetry Entry

We encourage you to explore creating your own poetry with your child. We suggest using no more than two to three sentences for easy memorization. Write down your poem and turn it in for a prize! Every week, we will randomly draw a poem to be displayed on our front office digitalized banner. You and your child’s picture will also be displayed during that week.

** All entries will receive a prize for participation and have an opportunity for their family poem to be displayed. **

Thank you in advance for all of your hard work and dedication towards your kids!

Blessings,

Nan Nan’s House

  4. I loved the poetry website that you reviewed. It is my kind of site with lots of colorful graphics and easy-to-use links. I have taught poetry in conjunction with art projects and the kids have a lot of fun with it. But the "Poetry Theater" link was so neat. I am going to have to try that. We make puppets too and having the kids write a poem would be a great idea for a script for a puppet presentation.
